About Wicked Spins Radio
Best Music Radio For Your
Listening
Wicked Spins Radio has always been driven by passion, community, and a deep respect for the alternative music world. The station began life in the United States as a dedicated rock and metal outlet, built by founders who poured their hearts into championing heavy music. By 2012, it was ready for a new chapter and was taken over by new management, who took the helm.
They didn’t erase the station’s roots; they expanded them. The original ethos stayed intact, but the doors were kicked wide open to give WSR a new lease of life. Under the new team, the station embraced the wider alternative scene, industrial, darkwave, punk, electronic, experimental, and everything in between. New DJs from around the world joined the lineup, each bringing their own sound, discoveries, and connection to the underground.
Over the years, WSR has kept good company. The station has welcomed conversations and moments with some of the most influential figures in alternative music, Al Jourgensen of Ministry, Mark Stewart of The Pop Group, Aki Nawaz of The Southern Death Cult and Funmental, Michael Gira of Swans, and many more artists who helped shape the landscape we celebrate. For a station built on passion rather than polish, it’s an honour to stand alongside such iconic voices.
For the past sixteen years, Wicked Spins Radio has stayed committed to the same mission: discovering and supporting artists who stand out from the crowd. From fresh underground talent to the legends who defined the 70s, 80s, 90s, and beyond, WSR continues to champion music that refuses to fit the mainstream mould.
What began as a niche station has grown into a global community. In this place, borders don’t matter, where creativity thrives, and where alternative music is kept alive, loud, and proudly diverse.
