Darkh are a band who are full of energy and flamboyant to the max, they ooze glam and a great amount of it.  So I got hands on their debut album, what is it like?  Read on and you will see.

Enter The Darkh is a lovely instrumental intro and its deceptively light for Darkh, the calm before the storm eh?

F.I.N.E is the second track on they album and its full of massive guitars riffs, full on bass lines, solid drumming and wonderful energetic melodic yet in your face vocals.  This is a band not to be messed with and it leaves you tapping your toes.

I Wanna Be Free follows F.I.N.E and its follows in grandure too.  Its got a lot more glam and in points a lot more power on the vocals too but yet this is more groovy too.  This is pure rock and roll with balls.

Bury Our Bones, ah now this one I know all too well.  This is one track that is going to stay in your head for a long time if not forever.  This has funk, style, energy and sophistication.  This is true glam metal at it’s finest and one song that defines Darkh, it has all of their signatures in a perfect package.

You know I so want to tell you the bands I can hear that obviously influence Darkh but I am not, this is all about the great Darkhness.  Ain’t No Sin is number five on this amazing album.  You know its so hard to review this album as there is variations in the music but all tracks carry their signature.  I don’t want to use the same words but Darkh are truly a band that you just need to listen to or see live.  This is pure indulgence and Ain’t No Sin is just sexy metal, if it was a woman it would be the one your mum would tell you to stay away from but you know you just can’t resist.

I Don’t Care start with foot tapping drums then moves wonderfully into the guitars, then it starts.  Lovely robust and vigorous but yet commanding vocal tones from Touby here.  These guys are no amateurs, I’ve never heard a debut album that is so finely polished with musicians that are truly talented at what they do.

You know this is an album that will appeal to those who like hard rock and also metal.  You cannot help but want to move to Dead Man’s Toll, its got such a great beat but yet its hip yet unconventional.  It’s great music that doesn’t fit in any boundaries because there is just nothing like it out there.  In Dead Man’s Toll the part where there is the guitars and Touby like chanting somehow is just so catchy.

My Curse begins bassy and sassy then that catchy bass follows in the song.  She is my curse and she is so flirtatious and titillating.  This is charismatic yet in your face metal, its has they edge.

As the album is nearing an end it’s Lights Out time, I adore the catchy and chuggy guitars in Lights Out.  Again it follows the same foot tapping energetic and flamboyant full sound of the rest of the album.  Again you cannot point to one thing in the track that leads it as every instrument and the vocals are just full on and are done with style and panache.

Next to last track is Motionless, oh and its starts with such style that the great Alice Cooper would be proud of.  One thing I must point out that gives Darkh their strength, not just the amazing music but also lyrically they excel and this is very prevalent in Motionless.  This song is very clever lyric wise, every song has immense lyrics but I just personally really like them on Motionless.

You know from Lights Out, through Motionless to Home Is Where The Heart Is the album has been slowing down to its final close.  Home Is Where The Heart Is starts slow and is slow.  Its has piano’s, soft vocal tones and like an orchestra behind them.  Touby’s vocals hold a lot of power but yet are wonderfully subtle.  What an amazing finishing move on this album, the whole band each contribute in their own way to this amazingly soft yet dominant and potent final track.

All I can say is yup I like this one, it has so many elements which will appeal to those who like rock, metal and glam.  This is one very sexy lady of an album and she will eat you up and spit you out, you will enjoy every minute of it.
