I have liked the music of The Unkindness Of Ravens for a while.\u00a0 They have their own unique style which combines elements of electronica, industrial and a smidgen of metal which produces a great sound.\u00a0 Combined with the music are the lead vocals of Nina backed up by Ben\u2019s masculine but complimentary vocals.<\/p>\n

Red Sun is a compilation of B-Sides, single tracks and a few oddments of the last three years of their musical life.\u00a0 So what can we find on Red Sun?\u00a0 Well read on and you shall find many a delight awaits you.<\/p>\n

You find there are tracks like the opening track Circle which truly encompasses that full on electronic sound with subtle undertones of metal thanks to Ben\u2019s guitar work. Circle is a one of the tracks where Nina\u2019s vocals shine through to their fullest, they are sultry moody and very much alluring.\u00a0 Another track where I found Nina\u2019s voice catches you is Till I Get Home, again Nina\u2019s voice is provocative and sensuous in every way.\"155896_552155724800823_1225902151_n\" This is backed up not only by the superb 80\u2019s feel electronic beats but also Ben adds his own twist and extra provoking backing vocals which adds even more sensuality to what is a very sexy song.<\/p>\n

Lift gives you an amazing burst of electro industrial carnage providing you with just one edge of The Unkindness Of Ravens expanding sound.\u00a0 From one extreme to another in the form of Dead Air.\u00a0 Dead Air is a very dark and sinister track, again this is a track that shows the vocal talents of Nina and Ben.\u00a0 Their vocal styles are excellent providing the atmosphere being gloomy and murky, but there is not let up in the quality here.\u00a0 The Unkindness Of Ravens manage to bend emotions through their delightful sound.<\/p>\n

I Used To Be So Pretty enforces The Unkindness Of Ravens sound with lovely chugging guitar riffs.\u00a0 Red Sun is the title track from the EP, to me Red Sun is very delicate in sound but it\u2019s another that has a very shadowy and shady feel.\u00a0 Red Sun is a song that to me just blows me away and really shows you in sound the true versatility of The Unkindness Of Ravens.<\/p>\n

The EP ends with Accelerator, which is indeed a great ending to the EP.\u00a0 It has an amazing electro rock sound with all elements of the music fitting together perfectly.\u00a0 A song that truly shows the harmony between Ben and Nina.<\/p>\n

I would recommend Red Sun to anyone who likes electro or industrial, it\u2019s one of those that you will find you are listening to constantly.\u00a0 Red Sun contains some rare gems that you wouldn\u2019t normally think to play, but play them you will.<\/p>\n
