\nIt was back in the early 80’s during \u00a0senior school that the seed of Killing Joke<\/span> was planted in me when I was captivated by spiky haired punk in the 6th<\/sup> form wearing \u00a0a leather jacket with a hand painted grinning jester emblazoned on the back with the band\u2019s name. I didn’t know at the time that the name was for a band I would become to respect and be one of my all time heroes of the post punk movement. But the words killing joke intrigued me and the artwork on the jacket left a long and enduring mark on my psych.<\/p>\n

Jumping forward a few years their classic track Eighties was ringing through my head and then Follow the Leader set me on a course of musical discovery.<\/p>\n

Coming out for from the Matt Stagger Band, Jaz Coleman<\/span> and Big Paul Ferguson<\/span> formed Killing Joke and after placing and advert were joined by Geordie Walker<\/span> and Martin \u201cYouth\u201d Glover<\/span>, with a manifesto to \u201cdefine exquisite music for the atomic age\u201d. A manifesto they have stuck to throughout their enduring career with fifteen albums under their belts and numerous remix albums, In Dub is their most recent. Produced by Youth and released in November 2013 it\u2019s a blinder of an album that you cannot help but get your nod on to.<\/p>\n

Comprising of 3 CD\u2019s Youth has produced a masterpiece from some of the bands greatest and classic tracks to their most recent releases bring them all spiralling into the modern age, not that these tracks needed updating as their music to me and many of their fans will agree are timeless in their original form but In Dub<\/span>, brings a fresh and even more exciting sound that cannot be ignored.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s difficult for me to select a favourite out of all the tracks as each and everyone rings with passion \u00a0but I have to say that one of my all time favourites \u201c Money is Not our God (Babylon Dub) is pure geniuses.<\/p>\n
