Going to Gypsy Hotel<\/span> will always make you feel like you’ve just had a great night out, with a wide range of entertainment on offer. Tonight was special, as it was celebrating the birth of three babies within 2 weeks from The Urban Voodoo Machine family.<\/p>\n

Tonight\u2019s headliners featured some music, burlesque, and plenty of magic\u00a0!<\/p>\n

Tricity Vogue<\/span> was first to take the stage, at about 10 pm, with her ukulele. ” How naughty can be tonight\u00a0? ”<\/p>\n

After the crowd\u2019s approval for adult content, she jokingly introduced her first song by saying it contains every bit of\u00a0information about her love life she\u2019s experienced.\u00a0She sang many tales of infidelity and sexual fantasy, with a lot of humour. \u00a0She was called back for an encore of 2 songs, one of which being a cover of The Clash, ” Should I Stay or Should I Go. ”<\/p>\n


\nAurora \u00a0Galore<\/span> was next, with a stunning display of elegant burlesque dancing, whilst expertly juggling flames.<\/span><\/p>\n

DJ Scratchy<\/span> and guest DJ Brother Jim Jones<\/span> covered the intervals between acts with a mixture of old skool rock n roll, rockabilly and requests by the public.<\/p>\n

” This man always makes me laugh “I was told by an attendee, as Tony Garullo<\/span> arrived with a small table in his hands. On it was standing a cucumber adorned with razor blades, 2 glasses\u00a0: one of water the other of cola, and a bag a tricks. The classic magic tricks entertained the audience\u00a0: cutting of a newspaper page (then regaining its original uncut format), rope snipped then reassembled without a knot, but also a very funny display involving playing with a condom, unfolding a giant straw to sniff a bag of \u00ab\u00a0washing powder\u00a0\u00bb we were told, and ended with the explanation of the cucumber with razor\u2019s presence\u00a0: he swallowed the blades one by one, followed by a bit of string, which he pulled out of his mouth, the blades hanging on it one by one.\"GypsyHotel150214AF3\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Enchanting rockabilly music was the climax of the show, courtesy of The Obscuritones<\/span>. A 6 piece band, fronted by two ladies<\/p>\n

dressed in gorgeous vintage blue and red outfits. The voice harmonies were absolutely delightful to hear, backed by a solid rhythm of rock n roll that the likes of Chuck Berry would adore.\u00a0It was impossible to resist a dance\u00a0! They were so popular that I\u2019m sure nobody would have minded if they had carried on playing for the rest of the night. Paul-Ronney Angel (the Gypsy Hotel\u2019s organiser), joined in with Jim Jones for a fantastic finale, followed by more expertly chosen tunes by Scratchy & Jim.<\/p>\n

Tricity Vogue has released a double album called \u00ab\u00a0Calamitous Liaisons\u00a0\u00bb and plays a sold out gig in Camden Town Sunday 16th February and many other shows which you\u2019ll find listed on her website\u00a0:<\/p>\n
