Review Richard Garcia <\/a>[ Dogstate ]<\/em><\/p>\n

 
\nA fantastic night at The Alleycat Soho to celebrate what would have been Nick Marsh’s<\/a>\u00a054th birthday. The club was heaving with people wanting to raise a toast to the big guy and many musicians came down to pay their respects by playing some of Nick’s songs or songs that he used to love.\"12697162_10207026931965219_5636063184778067200_o\"<\/p>\n

Katherine Blake<\/a>, Nick’s partner was in fantastic voice for many of them. Also down were Nick’s boys from the Urban Voodoo Machine<\/a>, Charlie Fink (Penthouse and the Caesarians), Ray Hanson (thee Hypnotics) and his Whores of Babylon and a raucous rendition of Little Richard songs by the brilliant Jim Jones (thee Hypnotics \/ Jim Jones Revue \/ The Righteous Mind) with Clifford Slapper (pianist for David Bowie and Marc Almond). The cherry on the cake was when Jim Jones and Ray Hanson took to the stage to play Rolling Stones classic No expectations with Cliff Slapper.<\/p>\n

This was the first time in 16 years that the former Hypnotics had played live together. All I can say is the chemistry was unbelievable and the song so poignant with its line I won’t pass through here again. Nick Marsh would have been unbelievably stoked by the outpouring of love shown. Katherine Blake did a fantastic ultra slow version of Got Me Looking So Crazy Right Now as Nick’s parties were always sabotaged by someone putting on a pop r nb track. The party kept going till 3 am with some real classic RnB numbers and a very loud crowd version of Don’t Give Up On Me. Nick Marsh missed but not forgotten,
